Great book on boosting your immune system naturally!

This book was a pleasant surprise for me. What I really liked about it was its holistic approach to boosting your immune system, without any pills or medication. Your body is your mind and your mind is your body. Everything is connected. In order to have the best immune system need to help it with your mind as well: through mediation, dealing with emotional stress, being positive, smiling... The author describes this nicely in the book and she also covers other aspects or ways of boosting your immune system,

What I also really liked was referencing the relevant studies in the book which gives a lot more credibility to what the author is saying. Though just from reading it soon becomes evident that the author is an expert in wild herbs and she really knows how to use them for healthy eating. A lot of useful information is shared here. From healthy recipes, use of essential oils, massage, mediation, activity, all the herbs you can use, how and when to use them... I can honestly recommend this book to anyone looking to boost their immune system naturally.

which is great. This book is great reference if you want ...

I grow up utilizing natural remedies and natural foods. I always try to stay away from artificial / manufactured medicines, whenever I can, to stay away from side effects that are present in a lot pills .. Sometimes, I watch TV and a pill commercial plays, with long list of side effects narrated .. Scary to think that the side effects far outweighs the healing effect of an artificial medicine... I always consider natural solutions first and there is a lot of them mentioned in this book, which is great. This book is great reference if you want to go the natural route of staying healthy regularly. Definitely, time for me to up my water consumption! Good to know other ways to consume water aside from drinking it unflavored. Although, I don't have problem drinking regular water, I like the options given in this book. Also good to know that some of my fave foods have Vit.D in them so I can have it naturally. I try to take Vit.C supplement daily, but certainly eating the fruits mentioned in this book sounds more delicious. Now, it seems that I have to reevaluate taking fish oil supplements .. For food suggestions, glad to see pasta on the list too, even if I'm been trying to eliminate carbs sometimes :-( Now I have good excuse to eat. Also like the idea of saying positive affirmations while working out - as good for the brain - I do watch/listen to motivational videos while working out sometimes, hope that counts? Great book, great read, highly informative.

Love this series!

Ever since Mary solved my migraine problem with her last book, I've considered myself her biggest fan. Like Mary, I try to use food and herbs as health solutions as much as possible over commercial medicines and antibiotics specifically. I love being able to use Mary's books as a learning reference for herbal and nutritional treatments.

She is a vegan, and while I am not, but I don't think that detracts from any of the recipes or lessons, after all, I'm reading to learn about the healing benefits of plant based foods, rather than what beef/dairy/bacon does for me. I learned a lot about some herbs and berries that I can use in smithies and teas from this book. Also, I cannot wait to make that sweet potato crumble recipe she put in the recipe section at the end. Yum, yum, yum!
