A MUST READ for people struggling with their weight and Type 2 Diabetes

This book explains what Insulin Resistance is and provides the reader with some easy ways to naturally reverse the negative effects of Insulin Resistance that our bodies build up over time. My husband is battling type 2 Diabetes and I have not known why he went from being a healthy person to having to take several medications daily to stabilize his blood pressure and lower his cholesterol. I have a much better understanding of the reasons people develop the "spare tire" of belly fat and how easily we can utilize the 12 steps to regain control of our bodies metabolism.
This book is easy to read and easy to understand. The Author does a great job keeping the information interesting and optimistic. Anybody can turn their obese bodies into a healthier version they can enjoy living in.

Keeping the Blood Sugar Levels Balanced

I thought this book was packed with good information. It explained the physiology of food intake in an easy to understand way. It was also the right length for the suject being covered, factual and free of any unwanted waffle.
I never realised that water helps muscle function by using stored fat. That's another thing I liked about this book. There was stuff in it I didnt know about. So there you have it - educational, too.
It was also realistic not telling us to cut out sugar completely, but tells of the danger of excess amounts in our diet. So, the book isn't another diet book, thank God. I've realised over time that diets just don't work. The books written within the context of keeping the blood sugar levels balanced. This is what achieves weight loss and helps combat insulin resistance.
It was well worth the read and, for me, fairly easy to put into practice. Let's see how much weight I'll lose this month!!!
