About the Author
Patricia Schnering is an adjunct instructor of HIM at St. Petersburg College, and serves on its advisory board. In addition to experience as an HIM supervisor and consultant, she is the founder and owner of PRG Publishing Inc., where she published the first Professional Review Guides. Ms. Schnering has served as president of GCHIMA and on FHIMA's board of directors, where she twice received the FHIMA Literary Award. She is also a member of AHIMA and the Assembly on Education (AOE). In addition to a B.S.in business administration from the University of South Florida, she is a graduate of the health information management program at St. Petersburg College, and holds both CCS and RHIA certifications.

Great review book!

As usual, another edition of a great review guide to prepare applicants to successfully challenge the CCS-P. Loved the variety of coding examples by service area and practice cases. Also has an online companion that is quite beneficial.

Passed my CCS-P using mainly this book! Great study guide for CCS-P. Took 1 star off because I couldnt find the case studies on the online study guide. Overall money well spent, do not think i would have passed without it.

Not worth buying this book, out of touch in reality

First of all CCS-P candidates got to understand what to expect in the exam. The exam is divided into 3 parts. 82 questions, 8 questions and 12 cases. However In reality it is 88 questions, 8 questions and 13 cases. The book preps you superficially with the first 2 parts and very nicely with last part. The mock medical cases are excellent. The multiple choice questions which are discussed in the book are totally different than the AHIMA question patterns in the exam. I made a big mistake of buying this book, because the book doesn't help much at all. I recommend the author to spend $299.00 and take the CCS-P exam before authoring any book. In my opinion this book is worthless paying such a hefty price.
