About the Author
E.V. Frapiere is the quintessential cultural connoisseur. She's an author; artist and poet whose world travels have sparked a passion for the arts and elegant diversity of other countries. With her phenomenal debut book THROUGH MY MOTHER'S VOICE, I FOUND MY OWN, Ms. Frapiere has made the leap from aspiring author to published author-a role she was destined to play since childhood!
In preparation for her destiny, Ms. Frapiere attended the esteemed Illinois State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies and completed her postgraduate studies at Keller Graduate School, earning a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Public/Organizational Management. It was during grad school that E.V. honed her writing skills, writing non-stop and loving every minute! And while in a Study Abroad Program, Ms. Frapiere lived in London and Paris, igniting a delicious desire for travel and the many world cultures she would come to know!
Ms. Frapiere's incredible work ethic as a project manager at Northwestern Medicine is offset by her love of reading, painting, traveling and the hit television show, Downton Abbey!
Yet, the most important foundation in her life has been her loving parents, close-knit family, and loyal friends. In her own words: “Everyone has a story to tell and my story is influenced by the grace and wisdom of the LORD and the blessings he has bestowed upon me.”

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF 2015!

I received this book as an ARC. With the number of books I receive for review, I was prepared to be underwhelmed until my senses were ignited by something new and exciting. This book, however, had me at the title! Intriguing is an understatement. And the voice--poignant, honest and alluring--pulled me in and I couldn't let go until "The End"! Even the format and literary device is unique--part poetry, part essay and part narrative non-fiction--mainly because it works! THROUGH MY MOTHER'S VOICE, I FOUND MY OWN is a journey of wonderful memories and life lessons learned by Ms. E. V. Frapiere at her mother's feet. From luscious summer vacations to poems filled with emotional candor to walking through the sorrow of her mother's death--you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll shout for joy, but one thing is clear--you'll never, ever feel the same about family again! Good, bad or ugly, you'll find a new depth of courage to love your own mother even more!

An interesting collection of poems and recollections of life. The opening short remembrances of her life as one of six children with two loving parents in Chicago in the 60’s is a delight. Then follows a number of poems about her mother and the influence she had on her life and show how important having a strong person like that in your life is. The poems describing her siblings and her own life as the middle child are funny and moving at the same time. Other poems follow about a variety of aspects of life. “Soar like a bird” was one of my favorites, as it described what it was like to travel. This contents of this short book are overall very positive and uplifting in their outlook. Religion and family were such positive influences on her and her creativity. I can certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a respite from the vicissitudes and cares of life. Don’t rush through the contents. Pause and think. Spend a leisurely afternoon with this book along with a nice glass of wine!
